HC seeks reply from Ramdev

The Allahabad High Court asked Baba Ramdev and his two associates to file replies on a PIL which alleged that derogatory remarks were made against followers of Buddhist religion in a journal published by the yoga guru.

Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday
asked Baba Ramdev and his two associates to file replies on a
PIL which alleged that derogatory remarks were made against
followers of Buddhist religion in a journal published by the
yoga guru.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice F I Rebello
and Justice Prakash Krishna passed the order on a PIL filed by
Buddhist organisations -- Buddha Commune (International), Lord
Buddha Welfare Society and others.

Apart from Ramdev, his close confidant Acharya Bala
Krishna and associate Radhe Shyam Shukla, who had written the
impugned article published in May 2011 issue of "Yog Sandesh",
a monthly journal published by the yoga guru, were asked to
file their replies.

The petitioners alleged that derogatory remarks had
been made in the article against followers of the Buddhism,
including Maurya emperor Ashoka, and prayed for banning the
magazine.
