Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court
Friday stayed an order of the district magistrate of Sant
Ravidas Nagar by which a petrol pump co-owned by Samajwadi
Party MLA Vijay Mishra was attached three days ago.

A Division Bench comprising justices V M Sahai and
Vikram Nath passed the order on a writ petition filed by
Ramlali Mishra and others on behalf of Mishra Filling Station
which was attached on June 14.

The DM had issued orders to attach movable and
immovable assets of Mishra, who represents Bhadohi assembly
constituency and who has been slapped with a number of charges
under the Gangsters` Act.

However, the petitioners moved the court that the
petrol pump was run by them and that Mishra was a only their
"partner" and hence they be allowed to carry on with their
business.

The court, while staying the attachment order, asked
the district administration to file its reply within a month.
