Headman, brothers get life imprisonment for killing teacher

Mainpuri: A local court today
awarded life imprisonment to a village headman and three
others for murdering a teacher here.

Additional Session Judge Ashok Kumar Saxena held
village `pradhan` Ram Charan, his two brothers Ram Singh and
Subhash and their associate Achal Singh Jatav guilty of
murdering Suraj Prasad Pandey in 2005 during panchayat polls.

Pandey, who was leading a teachers` union, was killed
by the four as he had opposed Ram Charan`s candidature,
according to prosecution.
