Lucknow: People got no respite from the scorching sun as parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh continued to reel under intense heat wave with Allahabad recording the maximum temperature of 45.8 degrees Celsius.
The weather remained dry over the state, with mercury remaining variably above normal in Faizabad, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Bareilly, Lucknow, Meerut and Agra divisions, Met office sources said.
Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail over parts of eastern UP during the next 48 hours, the sources added.
