Lucknow: In a horrific sexual attack which reminded us of the Nirbhaya case in Delhi, a married woman in Uttar Pradesh was reportedly gang-raped in a bus during which the assailants also killed her two-week-old son.
The rape took place in front of her three-year-old daughter, who survived the attack. The 28-year-old victim was on her way to visit her sister when the crime took place in the town of Shishgarh in Uttar Pradesh last Monday.
The victim's daughter, who hid in a corner of the bus, is the only witness as two men raped her mother, the MailOnline reported citing the police.
The police said the accused were arrested and charged with gang rape and culpable homicide.
“She reached Shishgarh on Monday evening. At the bus station, from where she was to catch a bus to Bareilly, where she met the two accused,” the report quoted police spokesman Surendra Singh Panwar as saying.
The victim's child had been sick for some time and she reportedly went to visit her sister to meet a tantrik.
“She was returning when she met the two accused at the bus station,” the officer added.
The distraught woman was taken to hospital treatment.
Her two-week-old baby was killed when attackers threw him to the ground.
