Illicit arms factory unearthed, one arrested

Greater Noida: An illicit arms factory was unearthed and one person arrested in this connection in the forest area of Rampur village near here, police said on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police officials raided the factory last night and nabbed Ravi, a resident of Rampur Majra, they said.

Five country-made pistols, equipment for making weapons, and raw materials were recovered from the site, they said.

Besides this, 14 mobile phones and Rs 1.10 lakh was recovered from him.

However, Ravi's two aides Rishipal and Dinesh managed to escape from the site in cover of darkness.

A manhunt has been launched to nab them, police added.

Meanwhile, one liquor smuggler was arrested and 10 cartons of illicit liquor was seized in Dankaur area, police said.

The smuggler, identified as Ranu, was nabbed during a raid behind the Saini hotel in the area.

Further probes are on into the matter, police added.
