Lucknow: A day after prominent Samajwadi Party leaders gave weird arguments on the rising incidents of rape in the Uttar Pradesh, anther member of the ruling party Mohsin Khan has come forward with yet another insensitive statement on the issue, saying rapes are natural in such a big state.
Giving his reaction on the incidents of sexual crime against women in the state, Khan said that UP is a big state and such incidents are natural to take place.
He further accused the media of not highlighting such incidents in other parts of the country.
Khan said that his government is working round-the-cock to maintain law and order in the state.
Meanwhile, reacting to SP leader`s comments, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the Akhilesh Yadav-led SP government is handling incidents of rape with a casual approach. The BJP leader demanded strict action against those involved in such horrific crimes.

SP leaders on Wednesday gave weird arguments, saying sometimes when relationship between girls and boys come out in open, it is "termed as rape".
"In many places, when the relationship between girls and boys come out in open, it is termed as rape. In many places, girls and boys are ready (to marry) but honour killings take place. The most saddening and serious thing is that such incidents are not stopping. These incidents happen in other places also but are not highlighted," senior SP leader Ramgopal Yadav said.
In the last few days several horrific sexual assault cases have been reported in the last few days from Uttar Pradesh.
The most shocking is the Badaun gang-rape case. The two girls, aged 14 and 15 years, were abducted, gang-raped and murdered on May 27 when they went to relieve themselves in a field. Their bodies were later found hanging from a tree.
In another case, a woman judge was raped and an attempt was made to kill her in Aligarh, police said on Tuesday.
A 15-year-old girl was allegedly murdered and her body was found hanging from a tree in Misrikh area of the district.
A young woman was raped in Amethi, which is considered to be the stronghold of the Congress party and represented by Rahul Gandhi in Lok Sabha.
Under intense criticism over Badaun gang-rape case, UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said a Google search would show such crimes occurring across the country.
SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday made a scathing remark on the national media and cautioned it to focus on other issues.
