Inter-district robbers` gang busted, 10 arrested

Mainpuri: Police on Monday claimed to
have busted a inter-district robbers` gang with the arrest of
10 people, including two women.

Large number of fire arms were also recovered from their
possession, SP Nitin Tewari told reporters on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team intercepted a car in
Oncha area and arrested the 10 robbers, he said.

During interrogation, the robbers told police that they
used to give lift to people and rob them before throwing them
on the way side. Due to the presence of women in the vehicle,
the victims never doubted their intentions and used to take
lift easily.
The gang used to operate in Agra, Ferozabad, Farrukhabad,
Etah, Mainpuri, Kannauj and Kanpur, the SP said.
