Rampur: Uttar Pradesh minister for Urban Development Mohd Azam Khan on Sunday said that "grave bunglings" had taken place in the allotment of Kashiram Awas residences in the state and "undesirable" persons had occupied the flats meant for the poor.
"Undesirable and undeserving occupants of Kashiram Awas have given those flats on rent to other inhabitants," he said.
Inquiring authorities will "delve deep into the bungling" and those found to have flouted norms will have to vacate, he said.
Quoting the instance of Rampur, from where he won the recent Assembly elections with a record margin of 63,000 votes, he said "in response to my order for complete and full-proof scanning of allotments, as many as 92 undesirable occupants have so far been detected and proceedings to get these residences vacated have started."
"We are also contemplating to launch Basera and Aasra schemes under which residences will be given to poor in a transparent manner," he said.
Meanwhile, he claimed that Waqf properties in the state had been disposed off "illegally" in Uttar Pradesh.
"Registration documents pertaining to said sales are being scanned and we are determined to get those properties back and punish the guilty," he said.
