Hardoi: Exhorting peoples representatives to live upto the expectations of their electorate, Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik Tuesday said there should not be any dispute on developmental works.
"It is the responsibility of peoples representatives that they should live upto the expectations of their electorate, win over their confidence and work to redress their problems and development of the area...," Naik said during a function at Gandhi maidan here.
"There should not be any dispute with regard to development work...Wherever there has been dispute, development work has been affected," the Governor said.
Asked about his reaction about the barbs at him by senior Samajwadi Party leader and UP Minister Azam Khan, Naik said he don't find it fit to react, party president Mulayam Singh Yadav and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav need to take cognisance.
Earlier, speaking as the chief guest at the golden jubilee function of CSN post graduate college here, the Governor said not just the state but also the country is lagging behind in the field of education.
"We should remember our rich history when people from far off places used to come to Nalanda and Takshila for education. We need understand the present needs and requirements," he said.
Naik said Indian students were making a mark in the field of medicine and IT outside, which proves there was no dearth of talent but it needs proper opportunity to bloom.
