Kanpur: A 60-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly trying to rape a minor girl at Kalyanpur area here, police said on Saturday.
The accused Arvind Katiyar allegedly entered the 10-year-old girl's house late last night in an inebriated condition when she was alone and tried to rape her, they said.
Hearing the victim's cries, the neighbours rushed to her rescue and handed Katiyar over to police.
According to Katiyar he had entered the girl's house by mistake as he was drunk, police said adding a probe into the matter is on.
