Man remanded to judicial custody for murdering fiancée

A local court remanded a person to 14 days judicial custody for allegedly raping and murdering his fiancee last month, a senior police official said.

Ghaziabad: A local court on Saturday remanded a
person to 14 days judicial custody for allegedly raping and
murdering his fiancee last month, a senior police official
said.

Deepak, a resident of Shahdara, confessed that he raped
and murdered his fiancee Priyanka on December 11 last month,
said senior superintendent of police Raghuvir Lal.

The couple were colleagues in a factory and were even
physically intimate. After Priyanka forced him for marriage,
he rejected her proposal and found a new job in Noida, he
said.

However, Priyanka called him on December 11 and the
couple had an altercation following which he raped her and
stabbed her to death, Lal said.

The victim`s body was found lying in Jubli on December 19
last month, he said.

A knife which was used as the murder weapon was also
recovered from him, he added.
