Mayawati finalises names of BSP aspirants for RS polls

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BSP supremo Mayawati has finalised names of party candidates for upcoming biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha and the state Legislative Council.

The party president, who had convened a meeting of
MLAs, had finalised the names of aspirants for the elections
slated for June 10, BSP sources said here today.

Satish Misra, Ummed Singh, Jugal Kishore, Salem Ansari,
S P Baghel, Narendra Kashyap and Rajpal Singh Siani are likely
to be party nominees for the Rajya Sabha, the sources said.

The names for the Vidhan Parisad included that of the
Chief Minister herself, they said.

Mayawati is, at present, an MLC and her term is coming
to an end in July.

Ten Rajya Sabha seats from Uttar Pradesh and 13 Vidhan
Parishad seats will fall vacant in July.
