Mayawati issues directions for development works in state

Mayawati on Friday asked her officials to accelerate the pace of
ongoing development works and warned that stern action would
be taken in case construction works were found to be
She directed her senior officials after reviewing the
departmental works to complete them on priority basis so that
the benefit could reach the poor and deserving people, an
official release issued here said.
The chief minister said developmental schemes for which
the funds had been released, should be completed in a
qualitative and time bound manner. She asked the senior
officers to conduct spot verification of developmental
projects and submit their report to the government.
To encourage pisciculture, Mayawati directed the officers
to distribute pattas among the eligible beneficiaries, besides
ensuring marketing of their produce.
She directed the officers to ensure that fertilisers,
seeds and pesticides and crop loans be made available to
farmers without any difficulty. She said a scheme prepared to
double the income of farmers should be implemented immediately
and adequate loans should be ensured to them. She directed the
officers to ensure implementation of crop insurance scheme.
Emphasising the need to improve the marketing of fruits
and vegetables, the chief minister said a decision for setting
up of food processing units should be taken immediately.
The chief minister directed that all departments and
government organisations should ensure that their respective
websites should be updated in regular manner.
She directed that the irrigation department should find
out the reasons for not increasing the required irrigation
capacity and making improvement in water distribution system
as also running the canals as per the roster.
Mayawati directed that flood control action plan should
be implemented effectively and sensitive embankments
identified to ensure their special monitoring. She also
directed that relief works should be taken with proper
preparations in flood-affected areas.
The Chief minister while directing to make the health
services much better said one thousand new ambulances should
be engaged in the service of the people soon.
