Meerut SSP Deepak Kumar transferred, Ballia SP takes over
The Uttar Pradesh government transferred Senior Superintendent of Police Meerut after the recent clashes in which 20 persons were injured.
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday transferred Senior Superintendent of Police Meerut after the recent clashes in which 20 persons were injured.
SSP Deepak Kumar has been attached to DGP office while SP Ballia has been sent to Meerut as new SSP, they said.
Raju Babu Singh presently attached to DGP office has been sent to Ballia as new SP.
At least 20 people, including security personnel, were on Monday injured and a number of government vehicles damaged in a clash between villagers and police over holding a Mahapanchayat in Khera village in Meerut defying ban orders.
The Mahapanchayat was called by BJP MLA Sangeet Som`s brother Sagar Som against slapping of NSA on the MLA in connection with the Muzaffarnagar riots.
