Meerut: A marriage ceremony turned tragic in Hasanpur Kalan village of this district when a speeding truck crushed to death two persons of the wedding party and left several others injured.
An angry mob later set the truck afire and also blocked the road and vandalised passing vehicles.
Shaken by the incident, the truck driver escaped after abandoning the vehicle.
The police later managed to bring the situation under control with some effort. The driver has been arrested today.
