New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry on Monday expressed concern over two recent incidents of communal tension in Uttar Pradesh and asked the administration to ensure peace in the state.

In a communication, the Ministry asked the state government to take all possible action to ensure peace in Kasganj and Saharanpur districts where there were incidents of communal tension on June 26 and 27 respectively.

Intelligence agencies have reported that communal tension developed at Mohalla Bheem Sahawar under Sahawar police station in Kasganj district on June 26 following a clash between two communities over a trivial issue.

On June 27, members of two communities indulged in stone pelting in Rampur Maniharan area of Saharanpur district following eve-teasing of a girl by youths of another community. One person was killed and seven others were injured in the incident.

"These are matter of concern and needs to be nipped in the bud," a Home Ministry official said.
