elections in Uttar Pradesh, but an unfazed Mayawati said he
was a discard who had a number of complaints against him.
Claiming that the BSP had decided not field the MLA
from Jalalpur constituency of Ambedkar Nagar in the next
elections, Mayawati said her party would seek his
disqualification from Assembly under the anti-defection.
"BSP MLA Sher Bahadur Singh, who has joined the
SP has been suspended from the party with immediate effect and
the party would be filing a petition before Vidhan Sabha
Speaker for his disqualification under anti-defection law,"
Mayawati said in a release issued here.
She said that before joining the SP, the MLA should
have resigned from his membership as he was elected on BSP
Mayawati said that the party had decided not to field
him in the next assembly elections as a number of complaints
were pouring him against him.
"The MLA was not paying heed to the problems of the
common man and was involved in working for personal gains and
for his family members," she said, adding that the party would
ensure his defeat in the assembly polls.
SP leader Akhilesh Yadav has said that Singh`s joining
would strengthen the party.
