Mainpuri\Etawah: Samajwadi Party`s first family suffered major reverses in the recent Uttar Pradesh panchayat elections with several of its members failing to win their seats in their stronghold of Etawah and Mainpuri.

Sharda Devi, sister of Samajwadi Party general secretray Ram Gopal Yadav, who is SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav`s cousin, suffered a defeat at the hands of an independent candidate Munni Devi in Andani gram sabha of Karhal block by a margin of 127 votes in Mainpuri.

Similar was the fate of Aditya aka Ankur Yadav, son of Leader of Opposition in the Vidhan Sabha Shivpal Singh Yadav, Mulayam`s younger brother.
Aditya lost the election of the zila panchayat member from the area (Jaswantnagar) which has remained loyal to the family since the past 43 years in the state assembly.

Aditya who was reportedly being groomed for the next assembly elections in 2012 lost the seat to Dushyant Singh , a SP rebel, by 1402 votes.

However, Prem Lata Yadav, wife of Mulayam Singh`s younger brother Rajpal Yadav and his nephew Tej pratap Singh, have won their respective seats unopposed in Saifai, Etawah.
