Muzaffarnagar: A local court Thursday issued
fresh non-bailable warrant against a police inspector for
failing to appear before it as a witness in a rioting case
against 12 BSP activists, including MP Kadir Rana.

Additional District Sessions Judge S K Banerji issued
the NBW against Agra police inspector Vijay Kumar, who is an
investigation officer in the case, after he failed to appear
before the court as the witness.

The Judge also ordered the police department to
withhold his salary for one month and directed the Agra DIG to
produce the inspector before it on January 24.

The court had earlier also issued NBW to the
inspector.

During Lok Sabha elections in 2004, Kadir Rana, along
with 11 other party activists held violent protests outside
the District Magistrate`s residence against the arrest of a
party candidate, Shahnawaz Rana, in which several policemen
were injured and many police vehicles burnt.

Shahnawaz, who is currently the Member of Legislative
Assembly (MLA) from Bijnore, was arrested for violating model
code of conduct at the behest of Election Commissioner.
