Muzaffarnagar: BJP leader Sadhvi Prachi, wanted for her alleged involvement in the recent communal riots that killed over 60 persons, on Monday surrendered before a local court which sent her to 14-day judicial custody.
Prachi surrendered before the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, which also rejected her interim bail application, the prosecution said.
Her bail plea will be taken up for hearing tomorrow.
Prachi, who had contested the 2012 Assembly elections on BJP ticket, was among around 40 persons accused of inciting riots through their provocative speeches.
More than 60 persons were killed in communal violence that had broken out in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining areas in September this year.
