Lucknow: Granting the request of Uttar
Pradesh Minister Nand Gopal Nandi, who was injured in a bomb
attack on him recently, Chief Minister Mayawati on Friday handed
over the additional charge of his portfolio to senior Cabinet
Minister Babu Singh Kushwaha.
On the recommendations of the Chief Minister, Governor,
B L Joshi has allotted Nandi`s portfolios of institutional
finance, stamps and court fees to Minister for Mining Babu
Singh Kushwaha as additional charge till further orders, an
official release said.
Nandi, recuperating at the SGPGI here, had yesterday
conveyed his request to Mayawati asking her to relieve him of
his responsibilities till he fully recovered from the injuries
suffered during a bomb explosion in Allahabad on July 12 last.
Nandi had made the request when Babu Singh Kushwaha and
Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh had called on him
yesterday.
