Muzaffarnagar: National Commission for Women
has asked the police here to provide protection to a couple,
who are fearing for their lives after marrying against parents
wishes at Sikanderpur village in the district, officials said
on Thursday.
Jan Mohammed (22) and Shahin (21), who eloped from the
village last month to get married, approached the commission
as they were afraid of becoming victims of 'honour' killings,
they added.
