Nine injured in clash in election enmity

Muzaffarnagar: At least nine persons were injured when two groups clashed at Kalyanpur village in the district, police said on Friday.

The feud broke out when two youths Farman and Salauddin, were confronted by members of a rival group over a panchayat poll enmity, police said. The meeting escalated into a violent clash in which bricks and firearms were used, they said.

Five persons have been arrested in this connection and security has been tightened in the village to prevent any untoward incident.
