No involvement of MLA found so far in murder case: UP Police

The Uttar Pradesh police said that no involvement of MLA Mukhtar Ansari was found during the investigation so far into the murder of Brijesh Singh.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh police on Wednesday said that no involvement of MLA Mukhtar Ansari was found during the investigation so far into the murder of a distant cousin of mafia Brijesh Singh.

"During investigation so far Ansari, who is currently lodged in Agra jail, has not been found involved in any criminal conspiracy in the murder of Satish Singh, who was shot dead in Varanasi on July 3," IG (Law and Order) RK Vishwakarma told reporters here.

In the probe, the involvement of Indradeo Singh alias BKD and Satish Singh in the murder has been found, the police official said.

An FIR was registered on July 03 against Quami Ekta Dal MLA Ansari and six others after Satish a relative of Brijesh was shot dead in Varanasi, he said.

Satish (45), who was a history sheeter, was shot dead by four motorcycle borne persons while he was going to buy newspaper in Darhara Bazar in Chaubeypur area.

The FIR against the MLA, Sudhir Singh and Atul Rai has been lodged under Section 120 B (criminal conspiracy), Vishwakarma said, adding others were booked on the charges of murder.
