Lucknow: The Lucknow Bench of the
Allahabad High Court on Thursday directed Uttar Pradesh DGP to take
necessary steps and make proper arrangements for security of
former chief medical officer AK Shukla, arrested on charges
of alleged irregularities in National Rural Health Mission.
While passing the order, Justice Ashwani Kumar Singh
fixed August 9 as the next date of hearing.
Shukla`s counsel submitted before the court that
there was a danger to the life of his client since the other
co-accused Deputy CMO YS Sachan had died inside the Lucknow
The court, while directing the DGP, said that he may
pass necessary orders to all concerned officers, including
jail officers, with regard to the same.
