One dead, two injured in car accident in Kanpur

Kanpur: A medical student was killed and two
others were seriously injured when a car in which they were
travelling was hit by a truck in Kalyanpur area of the city,
police said Tuesday.

Three medical students Dheeraj, Manoj and Vinod were
travelling in the car when a speeding truck rammed into it at
around 1 am outside a petrol pump in the area, they said,
adding that Dheeraj died on the spot.

The condition of Manoj and Vinod is stated critical,
while the body of Dheeraj has been sent for postmortem, police
said.

Search is on to trace the truck driver who fled after the
incident, they said.
