Amethi (UP): One person was on Tuesday shot dead and two others injured in a clash between two groups during a panchayat meeting in Resi village in the district, police said.
The incident took place in the Resi village when two groups clashed with each other over some issue during the meeting, SP Alankrita Singh said.
While Pawan Singh (30) died on the spot, Vijay Singh and Arvind Singh were seriously injured in the incident and were hospitalised, she said.
Heavy police forces has been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident, the SP added.
