Lucknow: Demanding continuation of the
state assembly session, the opposition members on Monday staged a
sit-in inside the House even after it was adjourned sine die.
However, BJP leader Hukum Singh, who had announced a
fast-unto-death and Congress members later relented and left
the House.
But SP members continued to stage the sit-in demanding
continuation of the session and recall of the bill relating
to amendment in local bodies act.
Some members were still in the well to protest the
passage of the UP Urban Local Self Government Bill.
The entire corridor of the assembly had been evicted
and mediapersons were told to leave the place.
The members are likely to be evicted forcibly from the
House later on Monday night, sources said.
