Passengers robbed in train

A five-member gang robbed four passengers of a New Jalpaigudi-bound train.

Kanpur: A five-member gang robbed four passengers of a New Jalpaigudi-bound train after offering the victims snacks laced with intoxicants.

The incident occurred when West Bengal resident
Darabodh with his son Rustum and daughter Shabnam and Bihar
residents Abhishek and Ansari were travelling in the N E
Express from Delhi yesterday.
According to Railway sources, five persons including a
woman boarded their compartment in Aligarh. The woman
befriended Shabnam and later the group shared tea and snacks
with the five passengers.

The victims claimed that they fell unconscious after consuming the eatables. When they regained consciousness, they found that they had been robbed of their money and belongings.
They claimed that Rs four thousand were missing from
Shabnam`s purse, two thousand from Ansari`s pocket, seven
hundred from Rustam`s and another Rs four thousand from
Abhishekh`s pocket. The five persons who had boarded their
compartment were also missing.

Railway police has registered a case and all the four passengers have been admitted to K P M hospital. Police are looking for the gang members on the basis of the identification details provided by the victim.
