Unnao (UP): The Lok Janshakti Party Sunday alleged its supremo Ramvilas Paswan was not allowed to unveil
the statue of Lakhan Singh, a prominent Pasi community leader,
here, a charge denied by the district administration.

"Paswan reached Khurwa Khera village to unveil the
statue, but we were not allowed to do so," LJP`s general
secretary Chittra Singh said.

Additional District Magistrate Pramod Shanker Shukla
dismissed the allegation saying the party had not obtained
necessary permission for the programme.

Later, a miffed Paswan told reporters, "I will come
again on August 23 and will unveil the statue even if I am
arrested."

Slamming Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, he
said her government`s denial of permission to install the
statue of a great leader of the Pasi community had exposed her
love for Dalits.

"Her love for Dalits is nothing but a farce," he said.
