Meerut: Expressing confidence in its
investigation into the murder of Congress MP Amar Pal Singh,
police on Monday rejected the demand by a delegation of the party
for a CBI probe in the case.

"I don`t think the case needs to be probed by the CBI. I
am quite satisfied with the way the police is investigating
the case," Uttar Pradesh ADG Brijlal said.

Brijlal was talking to reporters in Parjapur near here.

A Congress committee delegation had met Meerut Police
Commissioner Bhuvnesh Kumar on May 25 and demanded a CBI
probe into Singh`s murder. Singh was shot dead by
unidentified assailants on November 15 last year at Attora
village in Mawana.

The delegation had alleged that the police have so far
failed to recover the vehicle and the revolver used in the
murder.
