Kanpur: Sub-Inspector Devendra Kumar Singh, who was shot at and critically wounded while trying to resolve
a dispute between a father-son duo at Naubasta police post here, died Friday morning.
"Singh, who suffered bullet injuries on his head, died at
11 AM this morning in a private hospital, while the condition
of another policeman Satyabhan continued to be critical," said
Piyush Anand, IGP Kanpur zone.
Last night accused Saurabh Verma, who is a lawyer, was
brought to the Naubasta police station after his father had
lodged a complaint against him for harassing and threatening
to kill him if he didn`t give him money.
