Azamgarh: In a suspected case of honour
killing, a woman along with two others was arrested on Saturday in
connection with the murder of her teenaged pregnant daughter.
The body of the 18-year-old girl was found in a canal
in Luchai village here on March 27 and the post-mortem report
showed she was pregnant, Additional Superintendent of Police M
M Beg said.
Preliminary investigations revealed the murder was
carried out allegedly at the behest of her mother Sadrunnisha
who had been arrested, he said.
Two others, who were allegedly paid Rs 10,000 to
eliminate the girl, were also arrested, the police officer
said.
