Property dealer shot dead in Meerut; 10 booked

Meerut: A local property dealer was shot dead by a group of miscreants who allegedly raped his cousin here, police said today.

24-year-old Bilal was shot dead by ten members of a group last evening in Baniyalwala fields on Katta road here, they said.

A case has been registered against the accused identified as Pappu, Mehraj, Aazad, Nadim, Wasim and Shafakat and others, based on the testimony given by Bilal`s father.

According to the police, all the accused were also involved in an attempt to rape Bilal`s cousin, for which he had registered a criminal case against them in the matter.

No arrests have been made in this connection so far, officials said.
