Rahul Gandhi to begin 3-day Amethi visit on May 18

Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi will pay a three-day visit to his Amethi parliamentary constituency beginning May 18, during which he will meet farmers affected by the recent untimely rain and hailstorm.

"The Congress MP will arrive at the Amausi airport, Lucknow on May 18 from where he will start his tour of different villages to meet farmers hit by untimely rains and hailstorm and take first hand account of the extend of losses," Gandhi's representative Chandra Kant Dubey said.

The Congress leader will meet district and block level office-bearers of the party in the evening and the next morning he will meet senior Congress men and other delegations.

"On May 19, Gandhi will inaugurate development works worth Rs 5 crore carried out using MPLAD funds in Kasara village under Sangrampur block in the afternoon... Later in the day, he will undertake extensive visit of the constituency," Dubey said.

On the last day of his visit, Gandhi will attend district vigilance and monitoring committee meeting at the collectorate in Gauriganj after which he will leave for Delhi, Dubey added.
