Rahul`s criticism of Maya a political drama: BSP

Lucknow: BSP on Friday hit back at Rahul Gandhi
for his charge that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has
moved away from the masses, terming his criticism as a
"political drama".
"Before making such comments against the BSP leaders and
their movement, it would be better if he (Rahul) goes through
the history of our movement and the struggle of our leaders,"
said state unit president Swami Prasad Maurya.

Stressing that BSP is a movement which was started by
Kanshi Ram and taken forward by Mayawati, he said that Rahul
has "inherited politics and power at the Centre and so does
not know what struggle and pain" of poor and common people
are.

"The entire country knows as to how Kanshi Ram and
Mayawati travelled to villages between 1977 and 1984,
organised cadre camps and meetings to start the BSP movement,
apprising people about the double speak of the Congress," he
said.
He asserted that it is "wrong" to level charges of this
nature against Mayawati who has reached this position by
launching a movement of the poor and deprived.

"Congress yuvraj`s (Rahul`s) charges are a planned
political conspiracy and are mischievous," he added.
