Ghaziabad: The district administration has deployed Rapid Action Force at Upper Ganga Canal in Muradnagar to avoid disruption of water supply to Delhi after Jats demanding reservation threatened to cut all essential supplies to the national capital if their demand was not met by March 17.

In a meeting last evening at the Manota village near Muradnagar, which was followed by a peaceful march, the Jat All India Reservation Committee decided to cut the supply of all essential commodities, including food, water and oil, to Delhi after March 17, if the Central government do not accede to their demands.

Agitators also plan to block the supply of oil from Mathura refinery to Delhi. Supply of vegetables and milk besides, other food products to the national capital may also be affected.

District Magistrate Hredesh Kumar said the agitators will not be allowed to disturb water supply or take law in their hand.

Nobody will be allowed to come at the regulator for disrupting water supply, said Senior Superintendent of Police Raghubir Lal.
