`Recruitment policy needed in Centre`s self-finance schemes`

Demanding full time appointment of state employees in the Centre`s self-finance schemes, UP CM Mayawati asked PM Manmohan Singh to formulate a policy in this regard.

Lucknow: Demanding full time appointment
of state employees in the Centre`s self-finance schemes, Uttar
Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Saturday asked Prime Minister
Manmohan Singh to formulate a policy in this regard.

"The PM should review temporary, contractual and
part-time appointment in self-finance schemes of the Centre.
And if needed, state employees should be appointed on full
time basis," Mayawati said in a letter written to the prime
minister.

The prevalent system of adhocism in central schemes
caused job insecurity and resentment among the employees, she
said.

The appointments of `siksha mitras` in Education
department, `kisan mitras` in Agriculture department, `Asha
activists` in Health and family welfare department, `Anganbari
workers` in Women and Child Welfare department were done on
contractual basis on low honorarium leading to resentment
among these employees, Mayawati said.

Claiming that frequent agitations by these adhoc
workers for regularisation of their jobs had led to law and
order problems, Mayawati demanded the regular workers should
be employed for such schemes for its better implementation.
