Lucknow: The recruitment process of police
constables in Uttar Pradesh has been suspended in the wake of
ongoing bypolls for 11 assembly and one parliamentary seat in
the state.
"In the view of election model code of conduct, physical
and medical tests slated to be held on October 22 has been
suspended in 12 districts as of now," a press release of UP
Police Recruitment and Promotion Board said here today.
The districts where the recruitment process has been
suspended are Lucknow, Varanasi, Firozabad, Etawah, Auraiya,
Kushinagar, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Jaunpur, Sultanpur, Sant Kabir
Nagar and Shahjahanpur.
Fresh date of the examination in these 12 districts will
be announced later, he said, adding that the process in
remaining districts of the state will be held as per schedule.
