Revati murder case; charges framed against 7 accused

A local court on Thursday framed charges against seven accused for robbing and murdering the wife of senior BJP leader Hukum Singh.

Muzaffarnagar: A local court on Thursday framed
charges against seven accused for robbing and murdering the
wife of senior BJP leader Hukum Singh.

Additional District Sessions Judge Raj Bahadur Singh
read out the charges under section 396 (dacoity with murder),
section 412 (dishonestly receiving property stolen in the
commission of a dacoity) and section 120b (being a party to a
criminal conspiracy to commit an offence) of the IPC, against
Shankar, Jashodh, Ravi, Lallan, Ashok, Pradeep and Sunil.

Seventy-five-year old Revati Singh was found murdered
on July 30 last year at her residence here. The culprits had
decamped with a cash of Rs 68 lakh and ornaments worth Rs 10
lakh from the scene of the crime.

A cash of Rs 52,80,000 was later recovered from the
accused.

The next hearing of the case will be held on February
28.
