Rivers on spate in UP as Nepal releases water

released flood water, and heavy rains lashed a few places in
Uttar Pradesh in the last two days.

According to a report from Central Water Commission,
Ganga was on the rise at Fatehgarh, Kanpur, Dalmau, Chatnag
(Allahabad), Mirzapur, Ghazipur and Ballia.
Many major rivers, including Ganga,
are on the rise at several areas again as neighbouring Nepal
released flood water, and heavy rains lashed a few places in
Uttar Pradesh in the last two days.
The Met department said moderate to heavy rain was
recorded at a few places, including 124.6 mm in Bahraich, 77
mm in Ayodhya, 90.4 mm in Kushinagar, 37 mm in Basti, 35.6 mm
in Uska Bazar, 33 mm in Shravasti and 30 mm in Maharajganj.

The state had received heavy rains last month also
flooding many rivers.
