Muzaffarnagar: Pressing on the demand for bifurcation of Uttar Pradesh to create Harit Pradesh, RLD Monday said it will go alone in the state Assembly elections next year.
Rashtriya Lok Dal`s (RLD) national secretary Shahid Siddiqui said that party would contest in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls on its own supporting the issue of separate Harit Pradesh.
"Without creating a separate Harit state development in western UP would not be possible," Siddiqui said today.
Harit Pradesh is a proposed new state of India comprising the western parts of Uttar Pradesh state.
He alleged that the Mayawati-led BSP government in the state had an anti-farmer policy.
RLD had a tie-up with the BJP in the last Lok Sabha Assembly elections, however the party contested alone in last UP polls.
