Barabanki: Three persons were killed and six others seriously injured when a van in which they were travelling dashed into a tree on the Lucknow-Faizabad national highway on Friday.
The mishap occurred when the driver of the van, on its way to Faizabad from Kanpur, lost control over it and it dashed into the tree near Devasheesh dairy in Safdarganj police station area killing three persons on the spot, police said.
The injured have been admitted to the district hospital, police added.
