Lucknow: A Samajwadi Party leader has offered to donate his eye to the Moradabad district magistrate, who has sustained serious injury in his eye during recent violent protests in Kanth area of the district.
"There is no bigger donation then blood and eye donations in the world. If my eye can bring back vision of an honest officer like Chandra Kant, it will be an honour for me," SP leader Amit Jani said in a letter written to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Chandra Kant sustained serious injury in his eye during violent protests on July 4 when the police tried to stop some BJP activists from holding a `mahapanchayat` in Kanth area over removal of a loudspeaker from a temple there.

Chandra Kant is presently undergoing treatment at a Chennai hospital.
