New Delhi: The Supreme Court today issued
notice to the Uttar Pradesh Government on a petition seeking a
CBI probe into the murder of a woman who was allegedly closed
to a former minister.

A vacation Bench of justices Deepak Verma and K S
Radhakrishnan also sought response from BSP leader Anand Sen
Yadav who has been accused of allegedly eliminating the law
student Shashi.

Two of Yadav`s associate are also named in the FIR for
the murder of 24-year-old Shashi in 2007.

The victim, who allegedly had intimate relationship
was kidnapped from Faizabad and murdered.

The court issued the notices on the petition filed by
victim`s father Yogendra Prasad, who alleged that because of
the political clout of Yadav the local police did not
conducted free and fair investigation.

He alleged that material evidence has either been
overlooked or destroyed to protect the culprit by filing a
weak case in the court.

Shashi was allegedly killed when she started pressing
Yadav for marriage.

Yadav is currently in jail.
