Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government
on Thursday approved the second phase of the Buddhist Circuit
Development Project.
A decision in this regard was taken at a Cabinet
meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Mayawati, here,
officials said.
The project is aided by the Japan International
Corporation Agency (JICA), they said.
Under the project, a 53-km bypass road would be
constructed in Bahraich and a Buddhist museum would be
renovated.
Construction of visitor centres at Shravasti and
Kushinagar was also envisaged under the project, they said.
