Chandauli: Security in Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh's hometown and other areas in the Naxal-affected district here has been further revised after the central zonal council meeting in Lucknow under his chairmanship on curbing naxalism in four states.
The meeting was attended by the chief ministers of four states -- Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Superintendent of Police Muniraj said as a precautionary measure the deployment of security forces in the district has been further revised, keeping in view the security in sensitive Naugarh region, as it has already witnessed a dreaded naxal attack in year 2004 where a PAC truck was blown up at Hinaut ghat killing 17 PAC personnel.
A company of PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) along with an increased number of civil policemen here have been deployed to gaurd Singh's native village Bhabhaura here and also its adjoining villages, Muniraj said.
Bhabhaura is in the list of naxal-affected villages of Chakia block in the district and is also close to Naugarh region.
Muniraj, however, said there were no such specific inputs from security agencies for tightening security in the region, and added, that the security deployment was on a routine basis.
District Magistrate NK Singh said from the security angle PAC has been deployed in the native village Bhabhaura of Rajnath Singh.
The DM too said that there were no such threat inputs from naxals and it was security deployment on a regular basis.
