Sharda, Ghagra cross danger level as rains lash UP

Sharda and Ghagra rivers in Uttar Pradesh on Monday crossed the danger mark as incessant rains continue to lash the state.

continue to lash the state.

While Sharda is flowing above danger level in Kheri,
Ghagra is flowing above the red mark in Barabanki and Ayodhya,
Central Water Commission officials said.

The level of Ganga is rising in Phaphaamau, Chatnag in
Allahabad, Mirzapur, Varanasi and Ghazipur, while Gomti and
Sai rivers are also on the rise, they said.

Akbarpur and Baberu recorded 10 cm rainfall each while it
was 8 cm in Gonda.

MeT forecast moderate to heavy rain at many places in
west UP and Light to moderate rain and thundershowers at few
places in east UP tomorrow.
