Bulandshahr: Six members of a family, including two women, were killed when a speeding truck rammed into their car here Monday, police said.

The mishap took place in Shikarpur town, when the truck spun out of control and collided head-on with the Suzuki Ritz car.

"All the six people inside the car died on the spot following the collision. Those killed also include three men and a minor girl,'' police inspector Anil Kumar told reporters in Bulandshahr, some 400-km from Lucknow.

The deceased were natives of Bulandshahr's Jawan town and were returning from a marriage function, he said.

Police are yet to nab the driver of the truck, who managed to escape after the accident.

RAVI - DELHI
UP GOVT SHOULD SERIOUSLY LOOK INTO THE ROAD ACCIDENT INCIDENTS WHICH IS ALWAYS ON THE RISING TRENDS.

TRUCK DRIVERS WHO ARE NEVER CHECKED ON THE TOLL OR CHUNGI BY THE GOVT. AUTH. ARE ALWAYS LEFT FREE BY PAYING THE SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY. OVERLOADING AND HEALTH CHECK CERTIFICATES ARE NEVER CHECKED.

DRIVERS ARE ALWAYS FOUND DRUNKED.

THRU RECORDS IT CAN EASILY VERIFIED THAT MOST OF THE TRUCK ACCIDENTS TAKE PLACE DUE TO OVERLOADING OR DRIVEN IS DRUNK.

BUT STILL U.P. HIGH WAY POLICE OR CHECK POST DO NOT HAVE ALCOHOL METER TO CHECK THE DRIVER STATE.

INDIA IS LOOSING MORE PEOPLE IN ROAD ACCIDENT AS COMPARED TO TERRORIST ATTACKS.

BUT GOVT POLICY ON SUCH DRIVERS IS NOT TOUGH. UP POLICE RESULT TO SOLVE SUCH CASES IS VERY LOW.
